When Karthik is given a task by his producer to come up with a gripping gangster flick infested with heavy dosage of violence, he focuses on Sethu, a ruthless gangster surrounded by quirky yet scary henchmen. Karthik discreetly tries his best to find out about Sethu to develop a film script, but fails miserably in all his attempts. However when he finally gets the chance to gain an insight into Sethu's life, disaster strikes as he gets caught in the mêlée following the discovery of a mole within Sethu's gang. Karthik (Siddharth) is an assistant director who is thrown out of a reality new filmmakers show, as his short film was disappointing. Heartbroken, Karthik has the support of one of the judges (Aadukalam Naren) who believes he has the stuff to be a great director and is willing to back him if he does a script on a real life gangster! Karthik travels to Madurai looking to make a film based on the life and times of the notorious rowdy Assault Sethu (Bobby Simha). He teams up with his old friend Oorni (Karunakaran) and the duo tries to dig up enough backgrounder for their film. They get help from Kannama (Lakshmi Menon), the daughter of the women who makes idly's for Sethu! However mid-way through their script research, they experience an unexpected twist and realizes they have caught a tiger by its tail. JIGARTHANDA is nice gangster entertainment movie.<br/><br/>Director Karthik Subbaraj (Pizza) deals movie in Madurai thriller about "Hero decides to make a movie about a gangster and how he overcome his issue" with fun type of screenplay Siddharth given a neat performance and good acting.<br/><br/>Lakshmi Menon is aptly cast as a simple looking girl, not much given important role.<br/><br/>Karunakaran keeps you in splits with his comic timings, cute expressions and dialogue delivery.<br/><br/>The star performer is only man Simha - He is terrifyingly menacing at times while cool and humorous in others and given a remarkable performance.<br/><br/>Vijay sethupathy - Guest role appearance was surprise Other actors have also done their parts well.<br/><br/>Music are OK.<br/><br/>Dialogues by Karthik Subbaraj was superb.<br/><br/>Plus : Story Simha Performance Siddharth + Karunakaran combo Comedy<br/><br/>Minus: film runs slow, Lenghty (2nd Half) Songs <br/><br/>Verdict: A film not to be missed!.<br/><br/>3.25 /5 Karthik (siddharth) is asked by a producer to write and direct a brutal and realistic gangster film complete with violence. Karthik chooses to make a gangster flick about assault sethu (bobby Simha),a ruthless psychopath gangster. Trouble ensues when Karthik's plans to try to get close to sethu through his henchmen backfires miserably. Almost on the verge of getting brutally murdered,Karthik,having gotten within striking distance of sethu,finally reveals that he would like to make a gangster flick about sethu,to which sethu agrees. All goes on according to plan until kayal (lakshmi) sets everything in disorder,putting Karthik's directorial debut and career in jeopardy.
